You've probably heard of Newtons Law of Motion: "An object in motion tends to stay in motion." But did you know that an object in motion will also tend to keep it's same direction? This is true of everything in the natural world, including me and you.
This means that whatever direction you are currently on, it will be your "tendency" to continue on that path. If you're living a rich, full life, you will tend to continue leading a rich, full life. But if you're struggling, you will tend to continue struggling.
You've probably heard the old saying, "the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer, " and this is why. That's the direction they are already moving in.
Most people who receive welfare (for example) are the third or fourth generation in their family to do so. Once someone is clearly on a "path" like this, it becomes more and more difficult to change their direction. Difficult? Maybe. But Doable? Absolutely!
You see, Newtons law of motion has a second part: "an object in motion tends to stay in motion...unless acted upon by a force of greater magnitude." When it comes to changing your life, that "force of greater magnitude" Netwon talks about is you...or more specifically, the power of your thoughts.
Deciding to think different thoughts is where it all begins. Because your thoughts and beliefs up until now are responsible for your situation in life-no matter what it is. When you think and believe differently, you CAN NOT attract the same things into your life. It defies natural law.
So many people focus on action; they may ask, "what can I do differently?" When they should be asking "what can I think differently?" Don't misunderstand, action is important, but thought is the beginning of all action-it's the real "primary cause" of all success...and all failure.
So if you're not happy with your current "path," use your thoughts and your imagination to begin shifting your direction. Your tendency will always be to continue in your current direction, so once you get started on a better path, stick to it like glue. Any success you experience will "tend" to bring more success, and the more momentum you build, the stronger this effect can be seen.
Regardless of what you believe to be true, think and speak of what you desire to be true...as if it were already so. This is the "force of greater magnitude" that has changed so many lives. Why not yours too?
